THE SCIENCE
Industrial Biotechnology x Circular Economy
Cit-Peels leverages proprietary microbial fermentation to convert discarded citrus rinds into
potent enzymatic cleaning agents.
From Waste to Functional Actives
India generates nearly 10 million tons of citrus waste annually. A significant portion of each fruit-rich in complex carbohydrates and essential oils-is discarded. We treat this “waste” as a high-density feedstock.
One-third of every citrus fruit ends up as industrial waste. We redirect this flow into the chemical manufacturing value chain.
Our Fermentation Philosophy
Traditional cleaners rely on petrochemical surfactants. Our process utilizes specific microbial strains that break down citrus cellulose and pectin, synthesizing natural surfactants and bio-enzymes.
01 Controlled Hydrolysis
Precise temperature and pH regulation during the 30-day fermentation cycle.
02 Enzyme Multiplicity
Natural production of lipases, proteases, and amylases for broad-spectrum soil removal.
03 Zero Toxic Residue
Final extracts are fully biodegradable and pH-balanced for skin safety.
Designed for Industrial Scale
Stage 01: Sourcing & Pre-processing
Standardization of citrus rind quality to ensure batch-to-batch enzymatic consistency.
Stage 02: High-Density Fermentation
Microbial digestion in sterile environments to maximize enzyme yield and metabolic purity.
Stage 03: Formulation & Stabilization
Cross-linking technology to ensure bio-enzymes remain active across varying shelf temperatures.
Technical Note:
Our bio-actives demonstrate a surface tension reduction equivalent to conventional linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LAS), without the associated aquatic toxicity.
